Artist Statement - Jeri Satterwhite-Dearing
The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance. ~ Aristotle
"My life has always been a collaboration of creativity based on every dream inside my soul. If I dream it, I create it. What starts in my heart is what I want to fill my life!
Glassmaking is one of my greatest passions. From the moment I created my first piece of art, I knew I had to pursue the heat. I love the ever-changing elements of glass. The challenges created when heating glass to a molten stage and then coaxing and forming it into something even more beautiful than it was in the beginning. That is passion!
The journey continues every day, but in new ways with incredible surprises! I will always hold dear to my heart the experiences I had while exploring the flow of glass but I'm going back to a passion I had long before glass art -- genealogy (www.satterwhitegenealogy.com). I will leave this site up because I'm not quite ready to close the door yet. Thank you and never stop dreaming!"
